Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, born Curtis James Jackson III, is an award-winning rapper, entrepreneur, actor and producer from Queens, New York. Recognized as one of the most influential and prolific music artists of his generation, the Grammy Award winner rose to global fame with his record-shattering debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin'. Jackson has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and earned numerous prestigious accolades throughout his career.
Jackson has successfully leveraged his music career into a powerhouse entertainment and business empire. From Get Rich or Die Tryin' becoming one of the fastest-selling albums in history to helping create one of hip-hop's most influential business deals through the sale of Vitaminwater, Jackson has consistently redefined success across industries. He currently holds the biggest series premiere in Starz history with Power Book II: Ghost.
In 2005, Jackson founded G-Unit Film & Television, which has produced a wide range of content across multiple platforms and sold numerous shows to major networks. Among the company's biggest successes is the critically acclaimed Starz series Power, in which Jackson co-starred while also serving as executive producer and director. He later expanded the franchise with the spinoffs Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan and Power Book IV: Force.
Most recently, G-Unit Film & Television produced the Netflix docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which debuted at No. 1 in more than 50 countries within its first 24 hours on the platform. The company is currently in production on Power: Origins for Starz and is in postproduction on Fightland, its first internationally produced series. Hulu is also developing a definitive biographical docuseries on Jackson.
At Peacock, G-Unit Film & Television is developing an adaptation of Jackson's novel The Accomplice, with Taraji P. Henson attached to star, as well as a limited series surrounding the Long Island serial killer case, based in part on Peacock's Emmy-nominated docuseries on the subject. At Hulu, the company is also developing Hip Hop Cop, a continuation of Ron Stallworth's story from BlacKkKlansman.
G-Unit Film & Television also produced ABC's For Life and the hit Starz series Black Mafia Family, recently wrapping Season 4 of the series and completing production on Season 2 of the Black Mafia Family docuseries. The company is also developing scripted series including The Massacre and Queen Nzinga for Starz, along with Trill League for BET+. Recent releases include TikTok Star Murders, The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets and Hip Hop Homicides.
Expanding into the podcast space, Jackson launched G-Unit Audio, which partnered with iHeartMedia and Lionsgate Sound on Surviving El Chapo: The Twins Who Brought Down a Drug Lord. G-Unit Film & Television is also developing a docuseries based on the podcast for BET+ and is currently in production on the DMX Podcast.
On the acting side, Jackson will portray Balrog in Legendary Entertainment's upcoming adaptation of Street Fighter. He also hosted and executive produced Fox Nation's true-crime docuseries 50 Ways to Catch a Killer.
In 2024, Jackson partnered with Lionsgate to launch the FAST channel 50 Cent Action, which was recently named the No. 1 action channel on Roku and LG Channels' FAST platforms. The free, ad-supported channel features premium content from Lionsgate's library, including the original Power series, along with films such as John Wick, The Expendables, The Hitman's Bodyguard and Rambo.
Jackson has served as CEO of G-Unit Records since its founding in 2003, overseeing the success of multiple multi-platinum artists. That same year, he established the G-Unity Foundation, which supports entrepreneurship, leadership and educational programs for underserved youth nationwide, including the G-Unity Business Lab in partnership with the Houston Independent School District.
Continuing to expand his business portfolio, Jackson launched luxury wine and spirits company Sire Spirits in 2016, the parent company behind Le Chemin du Roi Champagne and Branson Cognac. He is also the author of seven books, including the New York Times bestsellers From Pieces to Weight, The 50th Law and Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter.
In January 2020, Jackson received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and earned an NAACP Image Award for best director in a drama series. In 2023, he launched The Final Lap Tour, a global tour spanning more than 103 shows across 35 countries. The tour sold more than 1 million tickets across North America, Europe and Australia.
